We’d like to help you discover even more about what makes Northern Michigan so special in September, besides the spectacular changing colors of the leaves.

With the end of summer comes Labor Day celebrations all across this great country of ours. We’ve complied a list of great events happening around Hearthside Grove to keep you, your family, and your friends enjoying every last sip of summer…

Boyne City

Just 15 miles from us here in Petoskey is Boyne City.  It will be worth the drive as there is a line up of activities happening throughout Labor Day weekend, beginning with the final Stroll the Streets on Friday night.

On Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park will be a Car Show, beginning at 9am with music, food and of course, beautiful, shiny cars!

Also happening on Saturday at Veteran’s Park on Lake Street is the outdoor Farmer’s Market from 8am – Noon. Stock up on fresh, local foods for your Labor Day feast.

Not to mention, Drag Races will be taking place from 12pm – 5pm on Sunday at the airport.

So much is happening in Boyne City this Labor Day!

Charlevoix

The Red Fox Regatta sails from Charlevoix to Boyne City on Saturday September 5th, and back to Charlevoix on Sunday September 6th.  This is a two-day event that carries sailors the full length of Lake Charlevoix.  At the end of day one, sailors are treated to a club-hosted party in Boyne City.  Day two is earmarked by racing back to the top of Lake Charlevoix, with an awards ceremony to follow.

The Little But Mighty Bridge Walk takes place at 1pm, Monday, September 7th. Proceeds benefit the Charlevoix Circle of Arts.

 

Harbor Springs

Street Sales and Celebrations is an all day event Saturday, September 5th from 9am – 5pm at Downtown, Uptown Fairview Square and Harbor Plaza.  Plus the Farmers Market is in action from 9am – 1pm!

 

Mackinaw City

The event of the weekend is the Mackinac Bridge Walk on Labor Day Monday. Buses transport walkers from Mackinaw City to St. Ignace where the walk begins. Walkers can begin at 7am.
