Farm-to-Table Dinner and Twilight Tours

Castle Farms hosts a number of events each year and loves to welcome the owners at Hearthside Grove Motorcoach Resort. One of the most popular events are the Farm-to-Table Dinner and Twilight Tours. These once a month events have garnered a lot of interest. For a firsthand account, Amanda of Castle Farms Marketing and PR attended the last dinner of 2017 and shares her experience below:

I attended the last Twilight Farm-to-Table dinner of the year at Castle Farms and it is an event that I would highly recommend. It is the perfect place to celebrate an anniversary, birthday or just a fun night out. In fact, there were two anniversaries being celebrated and one 80th birthday at this last dinner. The castle and catering staff is so friendly and the tour guides are overflowing with knowledge like you wouldn’t believe.

The Experience

As soon as you walk into the Castle you are greeted by friendly faces and directed to the media room where the tour guides introduce themselves and give you a bit of background information before getting started with a video. The video gives a sneak peek of history and shows some of the work it took to restore this beautiful, historic property. From there we hopped on a tram which took us around the outside of the Castle where we saw some gorgeous views and had amazing photo opportunities. After the tram ride, we split into two groups and went off with a guide where I learned more than I ever thought I could about Charlevoix and Castle Farms. Our tour guide had so many interesting and comical stories from 1918 Loeb Farm to the current Castle Farms.

She was great at interacting with all of the guests and asking us different questions, along with answering any questions we had. We walked through some of the beautiful gardens and looked at the amazing collections in each part of the Castle. The tour is very well planned out and we were able to stop and relax in each area while our guide painted a picture of what each previous owner and current owner did with the Castle. Pretty soon the sunset and we were ready for dinner!

We sat in a quaint little dining area where there was a live acoustic band and appetizers already placed at the tables. Once we were seated, Grey Gables staff came around and filled our glasses with the wine from Castle Farms new wine label, 1918 Cellars, and the chef came out to introduce himself and tell us about the amazing meals he had prepared for us that night. We enjoyed a delicious and creative three-course meal, drank great wine and had wonderful conversations with the people around the table. It was a very fun and relaxing evening, Castle Farms Twilight dinner is one event that you don’t want to miss!
