A Michigan Smorgasbord at Legs Inn

legs-innOur hats off to the famous Legs Inn in Cross Village, a popular destination with all who travel to Northern Michigan! They recently received a nod as one of 14 “Great Michigan Eats” by The Detroit Free Press.  The feature appeared in the paper’s Michigan Section and was titled “You Haven’t Lived Here Until…You’ve Sampled a Michigan Smorgasbord.”

From Hearthside Grove, Legs Inn is a gorgeous drive along the bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, and is a favorite activity by car or motorcycle. They open May 21 for the season, so make plans to get here soon! Reservations for Hearthside Grove can be made from this website, and info on Legs Inn can be had at www.legsinn.com

Three signs of Spring in Northern Michigan

Three signs of spring will be visible next week: Trillium, Morels and LEGS INN opening Friday, May 15, to begin the 2009 season. This year marks the 23rd year for George and Kathy Smolak of Leg’s Inn to serve guests at their historic landmark. Sons Mark and Christopher are also participating in the management.

This season is also historic in respect to the music. Legendary Jelly Roll Blues Band (a favorite with local folk May 24, and July and August Sundays) and local folk artist Kirby (Fridays in July and August) will perform this summer for the 20th season. Special artist Allen Gerber from Chicago, sponsored by Blissfest Organization, will perform on Saturday May 16. This is boogie-woogie of the highest order that will make you jump on the dance floor, so get to Hearthside Grove and enjoy the trillium-lined scenic drive to Cross Village and have some fun.  Visit www.legsinn.com or call 231-526-2281 for more.
