Brad Herzog brought his literary wit and tales of being a millionaire

Humorous author Brad Herzog entertained Hearthside Grove guests with an amusing account of his experience with Regis Philbin’s “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” and how that morphed into his tale of the hero’s journey…and what it’s like to lack courage at the moment you most need! Brad’s book “Turn Left at the Trojan Horse” was featured at McLean and Eakin award-winning independent book sellers in Petoskey, and they knew there was no better place to host the author with hors d’oeuvres, wine and a book signing than at Hearthside Grove.

Brad’s story followed the path of his family’s journey cross country to a reunion. Inspired to the idea that they should visit small towns that have borrowed their names from Greek civilization, he  arrived at an amusing account of the RV lifestyle, the modern American experience and how to extract wisdom from the anceints along the way.

It was a treat for us all, and Brad enjoyed a full hosue and warm reception.

Hearthside Grove Welcomed RiverBend

Northern Neighbors have never had so much fun as RiverBend Week at Hearthside Grove. Cocktailing, cruising, laughing and feasting, the group enjoyed all the luxurious amenities here at Hearthside Grove, then spilled out into the quaint surrounding communities of Petoskey (where they toured Kilwin’s Chocolate Factory), Mackinac Island with its horse-drawn carriages and Grand Hotel luncheon buffet (a feast!), Harbor Springs for boutique shopping in the sunshine, and more! And who could get over the Young Americans Dinner Theater as the grand finale? Top notch entertainment for a first-rate event~thanks to all who participated, and we’ll see you again in 2011!

Summertime and the livin’ was easy!

Hearthside Grove enjoyed a full season 2010, complete with authentic pig roast over the 4th of July weekend. Great weather, good friends, lots of family, fun and food were the perfect preparation for fireworks displays in the various surrounding communities, including the battle of stars launched over the Little Traverse Bay by Harbor Springs and Petoskey each year.
