Late summer lounging in Northern Michigan swings with the Up North Big Band on the lawn in front of the Inn at Bay Harbor, where several Hearthside Grove guests and owners gathered Saturday afternoon, Labor Day weekend. The blue of the sky seen here nearly rivals the blue of Lake Michigan behind the Inn and just moments from Hearthside Grove.

Attendance was great and bellies were full after Wednesday’s Pasta Night at the Bay Harbor Yacht Club.  Hearthsde Grove guests were invited into the kitchen to choose their own meats and veggies to accompany the pasta, sauces and cheeses of their choosing, which yacht club chefs then tossed and mixed and stirred and cooked to perfection, helping even buttered noodles seem gourmet.  All of this with the grogeous backdrop of the yacht club made for a memorable occasion that you won’t want to miss next season!  And don’t forget the meatballs, hidden at the end of the line…

Gathering for the feast

Breakfast reached near-legendary status this weekend at Hearthside Grove, where sales director Wayne Rose and visiting Chef Patti served basic delights with resort-style flair. Baked glazed french toast,  peach and blueberry strata (Michigan leads the nation in blueberry production, and the season just peaked!), ‘shuffled’ eggs, potato casserole, biscuits, gravy, oj and more kept the guests happy and the dishes piled high!  Hearthside Grove has offered complimentary weekend breakfast specials throughout the season, and this weekend was, in a word, great.
