Hearthside Grove is the vision of brothers Craig and Kirk Rose who, together with their families, have spent a lifetime combining the unique experiences of the camping lifestyle with the joys and challenges of the entrepreneurial way.
Both Kirk and Craig have traveled the U.S. extensively in the camping lifestyle, and combine rich, firsthand knowledge with their dream of providing the best possible resort experience in their much-loved hometown. Craig Rose, Proprietor
Craig Rose, the senior sibling, received his degree in finance from the University of Miami at Florida. He spent awhile in the sunny climes of the sunshine state working outside the family business, which further developed his appreciation for the beauty, the ease and the inviting lifestyle of his Petoskey hometown. Craig enjoys skiing and the outdoors, has worked in the former family business and sweet life of ice cream and candy at Kilwin's Chocolates, which then gave way in 1992 to the Petoskey KOA, consistently one of the top-ranked campgrounds in the nation. He combines a wealth of experience, including real estate sales and his own family life (together with his lovely wife they have three children) to ensure that every owner, every guest and every visitor to Hearthside Grove experiences the best and, thereby has the most memorable of vacations.
Kirk Rose, Proprietor
Kirk Rose received his degree in recreation closer to home, at Western Michigan University. Kirk learned early on that it's wonderful to be involved in the business of making people happy, through the sweet life at Kilwin's Chocolates, through the beauty of one's environment at the Petoskey KOA, and through servicing their needs as they seek the ease and the thrill of living close to nature. Kirk is also a proud father of two and he enjoys woodworking, hiking, and the outdoors, when the engaging life of resort development allows.
Sharon Schupbach, Office Manager
Sharon Schupbach, has loved living in Petoskey with her husband for over 30 years. She divides her talent, time and expertise to working at both Hearthside Grove and Hospice of Little Traverse Bay. Perhaps most importantly, Sharon is the happy grandma of four granddaughters, her only son's buoyant offspring! Sharon loves golf and snowshoeing, and is a welcome guest on afternoon strolls through the park.
Mary Stewart Adams, Concierge Director
Mary Stewart Adams brings a myriad of experiences to her role as concierge director for Hearthside Grove, from literature at the University of Michigan to journalism and teaching, from public relations to public speaking. Mary has been referred to as the 'night sky expert of the north' and received the 2006 Gary R. Williams Award for Dark Sky Advocate of the Year from the Outdoor Lighting Forum. Always keen on what's going on, Mary brings an engaging enthusiasm to our resort and a desire to be sure that each guest experiences the full pleasure of what the Little Traverse Bay area has to offer. Take advantage of Mary's' concierge services, and be sure to share your own stories of the stars with our own local lover of star lore.
Frank and Linda Tally, Sales Team Members
Frank and Linda Tally, a part of the Hearthside Grove sales team, are natives of Michigan and right at home in the motor coach lifestyle, living and traveling fulltime in their motor coach since 2004. Grand Rapids has been home through most of their 30 years of marriage, and the Tally's have spent many happy vacations with their two sons camping in the Little Traverse Bay area. Frank worked in sales with IBM and Linda was with Priority Health in sales and marketing until five years ago, when the two hung up their corporate suits and started making their travel lifestyle dreams come true. As fulltime Rvers with an adventurous spirit, Frank and Linda have traveled extensively over the past four years, in the US, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. We are excited to have them as part of the Hearthside Grove community and look forward to their helping us all make Hearthside Grove a memorable and exceptional experience for owners and guests alike.
